Over the next few high-velocity years,  I owned several family friendly airplanes including a Bonanza, Cessna 172, and two Stinsons. Finally the "need for speed" overwhelmed me and  we began another homebuilt project, a Harmon Rocket with substantial F-1 upgrades which I named "Crazy Horse." One of the upgrades was an improved tailwheel with better clearance and superior handling.

The Flyboy story goes back to my childhood. My father was a flight instructor, pilot examiner, and author. As you can imagine, while growing up, aviation was a big part of my life. I got the flying bug and soon finished my first airplane, a slick little RV-4, that I called "Chief Pontiac" in honor of Pontiac, IL where I was born.  What a fabulous little airplane!
