Flightseal UHB tape can be used to mount items without the need to drill holes in the structure. It will adhere to aluminum, painted surfaces, Plexiglas, and most other smooth surfaces. It is difficult to remove from painted surfaces without damaging the paint.
An ideal use for Flightseal UHB tape is to mount aluminum stiffeners to help control oil canning. Belly skin oil cans are easily remedied WITHOUT drilling any holes in your new paint job to install rivets! Simply find a suitable aluminum stiffener angle and tape it in place to deaden the oil can.
We don't recommend using this procedure on control surfaces or anywhere that the loss of the stiffener would compromise flight safety. Use your best judgment!
